Hometown: Mobile, AL
What project(s) are you currently working on?
I’m writing more original content, and I’ve been having fun using the banjo for some of it! I’m also already excited to record another record after I release “Wolf Song” on March 12th.
What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?
It seems like I’ve always known I wanted to have music be a big part of my life, but I started imaging it as an actual career somewhere around 10 years old.
If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?
Oh, so many things… I’d love to be a park ranger, a biomedical engineer, an astronomer, a carpenter, or someone who restores old cars.
What is your favorite downtime activity?
I really like being outdoors. I take my dog, Atlas, for lots of walks. I also enjoy building things, working with wood. Reading a good book makes me happy, too.
Who is your biggest celebrity crush?
Chuck Norris 🙂
Who is your favorite sports team(s)?
Auburn University football. I also like watching pro hockey.
What is the last movie that you watched?
“Julie & Julia.” It’s a Nora Ephron film based on the true story of Julia Childs and Julie Powell. I like true story films.
What is the last album you listened to?
“Give Up” by The Postal Service
If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Oh gosh…I can’t seem to choose one single album… that would be SO difficult.
What is the greatest country song of all time?
“Jolene.”
What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?
It’s hard to pick one place, but I have great, happy memories of Chiang Mai, Thailand.
What is your favorite meal?
This changes frequently because I like lots of different foods. Right now it’s probably sushi.
Who is your dream duet partner?
For a music duet it would be my brother, Christopher.
Who would you like to go on tour with?
I think it would be a blast to tour with the Avett Brothers.
What is your ultimate career goal(s)?
My mission is to give light and encouragement to listeners, to make music that gives people a sense of connection. I hope to always have music as my career. I’m so grateful to play and perform. It’s never lost on me that people have an endless amount of things to fill their time with, and I’m honored when someone chooses to spend any moment engaged in the art I’m creating!
