- Where were you when you first heard yourself on the radio, and what was your reaction?
I have yet to hear myself on the radio but the first time I heard my music through speakers I was in our car and could not stop smiling. It was an amazing moment and everything around me just stopped.
- What is the #1 item on your Bucket List?
I have always dreamed of singing with Dolly Parton or the Dixie Chicks. But, other than that I want to visit as many theme parks as possible. I am definitely a rollercoaster junkie and an adrenaline seeker.
- What is something that you are extremely passionate about?
The obvious answer to this question is my music. There is nothing else on earth that excites me more than making music. It truly is what I want to do with the rest of my life. I could not imagine doing anything else.
- If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Dixie Chicks’ Home. That album is amazingly crafted with beautiful melodies and effortless harmonies.
- If music wasn’t your career, what would you be doing for a living?
When I was little, I aspired to be a Paleontologist. But, if music had not become a part of my life, I would most likely be a dancer. I have danced since I was 4 and it was a big part of my life until I was 14 and stopped taking lessons to pursue music.
- What would your final meal be if you knew it was your last one?
Easily my dad’s steak with my mom’s homemade mashed potatoes.
- What unusual item do you have to have with you out on the road?
I am not sure if this is unusual but, I always have to have a good book.
- What’s been your favorite city/town to visit?
Absolutely, hands down, Nashville. Nashville is an amazing town and not only because of the music. The food, and stores, and scenery all combine to make a perfect and beautiful city.
- What are your thoughts on the state of today’s country music?
Personally, I believe country needs to get back to its roots. Get gritty again. There are some AMAZING artist out there do not get me wrong but, what happened to meaningful lyrics? I think there are some awesome up and coming artists with such qualities to turn it around and make country, country again.
- What’s the best advice you could give to an aspiring artist?
To keep on climbing no matter what size mountain you face. People will say no, people will give you criticism, people won’t like you as much as you want them to but, you have to let it motivate you to prove them wrong. “Be so good, they can’t ignore you.”
You’re so genuine and you have such a beautiful spirit Abbey! I love your voice and I love the passion you have for music! You are an amazing artist and I cant wait to hear you on the radio one day!! Keep up the good hard work little lady!!
