Chris Young Raises $35k for Stars for Stripes Charity

At a party in June 2012 for his fan club members Chris Young made a promise to raise money for Stars for Stripes,which provides celebrity entertainment for U.S. troops overseas. Young made good on his promise and raised over $35,000 for the non-profit organization. With a sold out show on September 30th at the house of Blues in L.A. Chris closed out the campaign for the charity. The money raised has already supplemented 2012-2013 celebrity tours to the Pacific Rim, Europe and Afghanistan.

In 2009 when Chris toured military bases with fellow country artist, Craig Morgan in Kuwait and Iraq he became involved with Stars for Stripes. The trip was documented for a Great American Country (GAC) television special called, “Stars for Stripes – Wounded Warriors Return.” In 2010, Young became a member of the Stars for Stripes Board of Directors and went on his second overseas tour once again to Iraq and Kuwait through the program in 2011.
