Tips for Press Releases
In order for us to best service you, please make sure that the content you are looking to promote is easily identifiable early in your press release/email. Due to the high volume of emails we receive each day, if we cannot identify that it’s something we can use within a couple of seconds of scanning the email, you run the risk of us moving on to the next one.
Here are some of the key points of information that should be included early in your press release/email that will help us process your request to include it on our website(s):
- Genre
- Artist or Event Name
- What’s being promoted – a single, an album, a video, a concert/event?
- Please include release dates for singles/albums and show dates for events
- Please include a link for the music, video or announcement. If we don’t create a featured post for it on our website, we may still share the link on social media.
- If your email offers a Share option to share the email on social media, please avoid using all caps in your subject line so it doesn’t look like we’re “screaming” if/when we share it
- Please include venue name/address/date/time for events
- Please try to give us at least a couple of days for time sensitive content
- Please try to avoid Friday emails – we get more emails on Friday than any other day of the week which can lead to a delay in responding to your email.
We are here to help, but need to be as efficient with our time as possible! We thank you for helping us make Hometown Country Music the #1 country music website!
