Artist Name: Bronnie
Hometown: Wirral, UK (Pretty much Liverpool!)
What project(s) are you currently working on?
I’m currently working on my 2nd album. The first single ‘Own Girl Own World’ is coming out April 24th and really excited for everyone to hear that one. Last year was a busy one, I did a headline UK/EU & USA tour for my debut album and spent a lot of time writing for album 2, so being able to finally put out album 2 material feels all new and exciting again!
What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?
It sounds so cliche but I’ve been wanting to be a singer my whole life. My dad was in a rockabilly band when I was a kid, so when bars would make exceptions for my age, I could watch him play! It was only ‘local band’ type gigs, but it made such an impact on the direction I wanted to take in life. I was brought up on Johnny Cash, Stray Cats, Alanis & and the One Tree Hill episode soundtracks so I was always finding ways to rewrite their songs when I was a kid to help with my songwriting. & I’m a late 90’s kid so obviously I was singing and dancing to Britney, Avril & Shania who all inspired me so much!
If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?
I used to love photography and videography, I edit all my music videos anyway so I’d probably shoot music videos & tour documentaries for bands! But technically that’s still in music.. so I’d 100% work in Disney! My band mates and I go to Disneyland Paris right before we start any European tour, we love it! Just like going to see live music, it’s another escape from the real world plus my cousin Laurie from Anaheim actually is an Imagineer at Disney California and helps design loads of rides in Disney parks all over the world. She showed me the plans of some rides before they got released to the public once, it was pretty cool!
What is your favorite downtime activity?
I don’t really have much down time because I love to keep busy with writing, rehearsing etc but I do like to go out and play golf! My band mates and I are obsessed, whenever we need a meeting we just go golfing to kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
Who is your biggest celebrity crush?
I mean who doesn’t love a bit of Keith Urban? I wouldn’t be able to make eye contact with him if I ever met him!
Who is your favorite sports team(s)?
I’m a big Liverpool FC fan! Up the reds!! But if we’re talking American football then its Denver Broncos, a lot of my family are from Colorado!
What is the last movie that you watched?
Anne of Green Gables with my mum! She’s a mega fan. She has all the books and movies and spin off shows on DVD so we had a girls night in last weekend!
What is the last album you listened to?
Ella Langley – Still Hungover. I think she’s awesome. She has a song called Made it out of Mexico (acoustic) … It’s always in my head!
If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Jagged Little Pill – Alanis Morissette. I randomly went through a crazy obsession with that album again 5 years ago, my parents told me that’s the album they had on repeat when they were painting the house when mum was pregnant with me so I wonder if that’s got anything to do with my obsession with her!
What is the greatest country song of all time?
This is so hard! It depends what mood I’m in but whenever I’m feeling a bit down I put on Chatterhoochee because listening to it whilst being sad is the actually funniest thing ever.. always brightens my mood!
What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?
We played in Bydgoszcz, Poland a couple years back on tour and had a blast! We played the show which was awesome but when we arrived it was very rainy & dull.. We had our day off there the next day so in the morning we thought about going for a quick walk and then heading off to another city to take advantage of some time off. So we went for a walk and it was all grey so we went to head back but then we got a bit lost and walked under a really long bridge and came out the other side and it was as if we were in the scene in The Wizard of Oz where she’s in a black and white movie, opens the door and suddenly its all colourful! The sun was out, the grass was green, we were right by a river so there were people fishing and jet skiing and having picnics so we decided to stay and ended up having the best day and woke up with the worlds ‘best’ hangovers!
What is your favorite meal?
Pizza 100%
Who is your dream duet partner?
Right now I’d love to duet with Ashley Mcbride. I see myself in her a lot! I love her music and what she stands for.
Who would you like to go on tour with?
I feel like Jelly Roll would be a hoot to tour with! I love watching his tour documentary’s & he has a backstage cold plunge, I’m all in!
What is your ultimate career goal(s)?
I just want to make music and travel the world which is what I’ve been blessed with doing for 10 years now! I love hearing fans stories of how certain lyrics have helped them navigate through difficult times. You sometimes forget when writing songs how much of an impact they can have on people, which is something I still have to get used to after all these years I’m like ‘Me?’ ‘My lyrics inspired you?’. I was lucky enough to play a stadium show supporting a girl band called Little Mix here in the UK.. so definitely bigger venues supporting my favourite artists & bands are on the list & headlining arenas one day!
