(Note: The announcement will be airing on a loop for 24 hours on Yahoo Live Stream…click here to watch it!)
Taylor Swift just made some big announcements on Yahoo Live Stream! She started the show from the top of the Empire State Building, then brought it into a studio where she had a select group of fans live in attendance as well as some fans from around the world via live video. She started by saying that she has three big surprises. Read on for our play-by-play of the announcements!
- The first surprise was a new song that she debutedfor the studio audience. She danced around with the fans as it played over some speakers.
- She sat back down as the song ended, ready to dive into announcement #2…which is the announcement of a new album!
- She said she likes to take 2 years to make each new album to allow for changes…including her music changing.
- She said she wanted…no, needed…to make a different style of music.
- She said she was influenced heavily by late-80’s pop music.
- The new album will be called 1989.
- You can pre-order the new album on her website after the live stream ends.
- The album will be in stores on October 27th.
- There will be 3 bonus songs on the deluxe album that are voice memos from her phone.
- She confirmed that she’ll put some secret messages in her album booklet as she’s done in the past.
- Each album will come with a pack of 13 Polaroid photos…packs will be different for each album.
- She’s launching the 1989 Swift-stakes, where she will be giving away 1,000 tickets, 500 meet & greet passes, and a total of 1,989 prizes to be given away.
- Surprise #3 is that she’s already made a new music video.
- All she thinks about are metaphors. Metaphors and cats.
- She debuted her new pop single 15 minutes ago on her Live Stream (which is still airing) and it’s already #1 on Billboard.
- And now she’s showing the video on her live stream.
- And that pretty much wraps it up! Best of luck to Taylor Swift as she officially departs country music!
Big surprise!
yippee…now I don’t have to hear her on country stations!
