Monument Label Group recording artist and rising star Rachele Lynae releases her self-titled debut album on April 22nd, and we had a chance to preview the album for you!

After her father discovered Lynae, country star Jamie O’Neal took a big interest in helping launch the California native’s career to the point that she invited Lynae to record a duet of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” with her in 2012 and produced this debut album.  The duet was so good that People Magazine featured it in their Country Special’s Holiday Playlist that year!  This led to Lynae being named one of the 20 Top Musicians to Watch by Nashville Lifestyle.

In 2013, her debut single off this album, “Fishing For Something,” (co-written by another rising star, Hannah Bethel) garnered the #1 spot on the Renegade Radio/Nashville.com chart.  Fresh off this momentum, her current single, “Touch the Stars” is currently receiving notoriety and airplay on Sirius XM’s The Highway!

This album has a little something for everybody.  The album starts off with her current single, “Touch the Stars,” an upbeat pop-country song.  She showcases her powerful vocals in “Words in Red” and sings about regret in “Cigarette.”

“Sometimes You Fly” is a great ballad about falling in love, and is followed by the fun “Party ‘Til the Cows Come Home.”  The previously mentioned “Fishin’ For Something” is one of the highlights of the album, and it’s a shame that Country Radio didn’t show more support for this potential hit.

“Clean” is another track that jumped out at me, an inspirational song that could be her breakthrough hit if released as a single.  This is followed by “Out on the Floor,” a catchy, fun party song.  She teamed up with Jamie O‘Neal and Hannah Bethel to write “Sticky Summer Lovin,” an upbeat tune perfect for summertime.

Lynae shows her vulnerable side with “Done is Done,” then gets all sassy on you with “Two For One Special.”  The album closes with the wistful “Old Fashioned Love,” another one of my favorites and a great way to finish off your listening experience.

Impressively, Lynae co-wrote all 12 songs on this album, with O’Neal lending a hand on four of them.  If you’re into discovering new talented artists, I highly recommend giving this album a listen and give it a score of 8 out of 10!
